SHOUT awards !!

last friday was the first event of the annual new award show , SHOUT AWARDS..
the award focuses on Malaysian Entertainment scene and recognizes the effort and achievement of variety range of field which include music , television and radio.

the award features range of titles such Best Breakthrough Band , Best TV Host , Most Popular Radio Show , Best New TV Show , and even Best Hot Chick and Hot Guy!! There are a few more titles that I couldnt possibly remember without looking at a list.

event starts at 9pm with a lights off; making the crowd anticipated for whats next which is a dance choreography similar to what you see from Britain Got Talent's Diversity.

among the winners that day was Bunkface, Joe Flizzo, Marion Caunter , FlyFM Pagi Show and Upin and Ipin.

all the performances that night was superb. among that were Shila (this girl is damn hot) and Nikki , Pesawat , One Buck Short , Komplot , not to forget JoeFlizzow's awesome one with a Maserati on the set. Many more I couldnt remember.

And yeah; Sean Kingston were awesome that night. Haha. That dude really rocked the place. Overall it was an awesome event and a big kudos for the organizers that day , 8TV and partly FlyFM. Looking forward for the next one.

yesterday , a friend of mine passed away.

it's a hit and run accident by a reckless lorry.
my friend is on his bike , on his way back home.
he seldom came back on weekdays , only weekends.


we , friends from school all gathered there to pay our last respect.
we were there since the start of the ceremony at 9pm till 12pm.


i just felt that nowadays, things are just random. they are plain random.

just heard bout this upcoming ducumentary feature from director Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, episodes of Deadwood and 24).



it's a documentary about Electric Guitar ; from the point of view of 3 icons ; The Edge , Jimmy Page and Jack White.

i think it should be something great for anyone who loves guitars. it also includes performances from the three musician.

AS3 : accessing Document Class methods / function from a child class

okay this maybe a little old but i figured someone might find it useful.

actually this way of coding does not parallel with the true OOP ways of doing thing ,
because a CHILD should never ask a PARENT to do stuffs, it's always should be the other way round. the best workaround is to use event dispatching and listening between the child and parent to let the parent know what's happening inside the child.

but , if you were stuck or you don't want to lose more of your hair, you can do this to access the Document Class.

var _deeproot:MovieClip = stage.getChildAt(0) as MovieClip;
_deeproot.someMethod(); // access someMethod method
_deeproot.myVar = "foo"; // access and set
public var myVar to "foo"
