AS3 : accessing Document Class methods / function from a child class

okay this maybe a little old but i figured someone might find it useful.

actually this way of coding does not parallel with the true OOP ways of doing thing ,
because a CHILD should never ask a PARENT to do stuffs, it's always should be the other way round. the best workaround is to use event dispatching and listening between the child and parent to let the parent know what's happening inside the child.

but , if you were stuck or you don't want to lose more of your hair, you can do this to access the Document Class.

var _deeproot:MovieClip = stage.getChildAt(0) as MovieClip;
_deeproot.someMethod(); // access someMethod method
_deeproot.myVar = "foo"; // access and set
public var myVar to "foo"

a very xpensive meal weekend.

well i've been postponing this post for ages , but i figured , i want to post it though. last week i went to the official launch of the KL branch of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co Restaurant and tried a few of it's featured dishes. happen so that I am not actually a shrimp and udang lover , this one is definitely a must try for you. but the event doesnt went that well on us ( me and my fren and boss , Shuk from SE Interactive) as the crowd of VIPs getting bigger and bigger ; we started to be neglected by the host. nevermind ; that's what you got when you became a VUP I guess. and of course ; eating shrimp alone and a pity VUP hospitality doesnt really make you want to blurp like a king ; so we headed to McD after that. hahaha.

then comes sunday. my sunday isnt really a normal one this week as I have a few important meetings with some fellow clients and friends. one of them is Adly , from Friedchillies. guess what ; he took me to Tony Romas for the meeting! you guys should try the food there; and what's better is ; we really felt like kings being there.
